Putting Her Celebrity to Good Use

Kudos to Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher, who reveals in an upcoming Vanity Fair article that she was molested by a relative as a child. As difficult as it must have been to share information about the horrendous crime committed against her, speaking up is one way celebrities can help shed light on the horrors and reality of child molestation.

Kudos to her. I had no idea this news was coming out this week but I just shared a similar story on my blog. There's more to the story that I haven't revealed yet. One of my hopes is that someone else out there can benefit from my story. It is frighteningly common to be molested, and a family member at that. I hope we can help raise awareness and minimize the stigma of talking about it. I want to thank Teri for her courage, too!

I love your blog, too! We must talk! I will be 40 in only a couple of years. I'm skeered!

This was the first I had heard about the news coming out.
Good on Teri for having the courage to speak out. Fellow
forty something here :)
