Little Women

The other day, after getting yet another pair of pants altered (taken up about four inches) and my new blazer's arms shortened (only about 2 inches), I started to think about how many times I have trekked to my alterations shop over the years. Oh sure, I can find petites now and then. But the truth is, much of the clothing I want just isn't available in petite sizes. So what's a girl to do?

Anyway, although I may not always find what I like in the right size in the stores, I was poking around the other day and found some sites dedicated to fashion and petite women like me. Check them out:

  • Petite Fashion Monthly: Features fashion news, a style guide, small shoes news, and even a forum for petite women.
  • serafina: A shopping reference blog for the uber-fashionable petite woman.
  • Petite Fashionista: A frequently updated blog by a petite fashionista who really knows her stuff.
  • Shorty Stories: This site celebrates being petite, and carries some interesting posts, such as recent ones covering height and award-winning actors.
