Georgia's Unsettling Test Scores

It has been the topic of conversation at many dinner parties in my group. Georgia's CRCT (Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests), which our kids take in middle school, has always seemed to have a failure rate that was a bit high. And I know several people with kids who are good students that have failed one or more parts of it at some point.

So I was not really surprised to read this article: State notifies parents before releasing awful test scores | ajc.com. So now what? I'm not sure, and since my youngest child enters high school this fall, I won't have to (personally) worry about this test anymore. Still, with a child in the public school system, this news is unsettling. But will anything change as a result? Let's hope.
