Graduation Fashion

So we found the perfect dress for DD to wear to her high school graduation, and a great pair of black, peep-toe pumps to go with it. So we were thinking, "oh yeah, we totally have this graduation attire thing covered." Wrong. Yesterday I received a note from the school stating that the seniors not only had to dress-up for graduation, but also for two of the practices this week, because they were taking a class picture one day and I can't even remember why they had to for the other day. All I could think was "Oh no! She doesn't have three outfits for this!" That's when I realized we had no choice; we had to go shopping and find outfits fast. I so hate shopping under pressure.

We grabbed a couple of lattes and focused as much as we could: we will find the perfect outfits, we will...We went to Kohls and found lots of cute dresses, but none of them fit DD. With no good alternatives left, I took a deep breath and drove to the mall. Trip turned out to be more successful than we'd hoped, and we had everything purchased within an hour. At Macy's, we found a cute brown floral dress and DD splurged on this pair of Carlos Santana shoes because she loves few things in life more than Carlos Santana shoes. We also found a black pencil skirt and a salmon-colored lace top to go with it. Coincidentally, I just snatched up this cute pencil skirt from WHBM last week, to wear to the ceremony with an Ann Taylor Loft top I bought about two months ago. I'm pairing them with the Liz Claiborne peep-toe pumps I purchasest in January. I may top it all off with a beautiful scarf dh brought me back from Italy last year, if I'm feeling particularly stylish that day.

So we're ready for whatever this week brings. And we'll look fabulous through it all.
